Apethorpe is a most attractive, stone, conservation village which evolved around the Grade I listed Hall and its associated farms. The village sits in a slightly elevated position above the banks of the Willowbrook. Within the village is the beautiful church of St Leonard and a popular public house, The King's Head. There are bridleways and footpaths leading from the village. Apethorpe is located approximately 1¼ miles south-east of the neighbouring village of King's Cliffe which offers a good range of facilities including shops, post office, bakery and schooling. Apethorpe lies between the market towns of Oundle and Stamford where there are extensive shopping, leisure and schooling facilities. Peterborough lies to the east, and offers an extensive range of facilities. There is a frequent rail service to London King's Cross taking approximately 50 minutes. Apethorpe is in the primary school catchment for King's Cliffe Endowed Primary and the catchment for the Middle School in King's Cliffe and Prince William School in Oundle.
