Luddington is located approximately 5 miles south-east of Oundle, and developed on both sides of the brook, hence the name Luddington in the Brook. Earthworks marking the site of the shrunken medieval village of Luddington have been levelled and ploughed. The moat at Great Hall Spinney has recently been scheduled as an Ancient Monument, and was the location of the medieval manor house, abandoned by 1640. The Church of St Margaret is located adjacent to Church Farm, and dates from the 13th Century. The market town of Oundle offers a range of traditional family run businesses, shops and restaurants set around the market place. The village of Barnwell has a primary school, pub and excellent village shop / post office. Luddington is in the primary school catchment for Oundle C E Primary or Polebrook C E Primary and the catchment for the Middle School and Prince William School in Oundle.
