Hemington is a small rural village approximately 4 ½ miles to the east of the historic town of Oundle with its traditional market place with a good range of shops and businesses.

There are village shops in Great Gidding (1 ½ miles) and Barnwell (2 miles). Further shopping and leisure facilities, as well as main line rail travel, are available in Peterborough (9 miles) and Huntingdon (14 miles).

Hemington is in the primary school catchment for Polebrook C E Primary and the catchment for the Middle School and Prince William School in Oundle.
