Achurch is a small, rural hamlet situated above the River Nene. The village has a church, St John the Baptist. The village was once part of the Lilford Park Estate.

The neighbouring villages of Wadenhoe and Thorpe Waterville have public houses, and there is a shop in the village of Aldwincle.

More extensive facilities are available in the historic market town of Oundle, which offers a range of family run shops, businesses and restaurants around the traditional market place.

There is an excellent choice of schooling in the area.

Peterborough and Kettering provide extensive shopping and leisure facilities, as well as mainline rail travel to London.

Achurch is in the primary school catchment for Aldwincle Trinity C E Primary and the catchment for the Middle School and Prince William School in Oundle.
