The village of Glapthorn stands in East Northamptonshire on the edge of the old Rockingham Forest, approximately 2 miles from the market town of Oundle.

The village has a primary school and is well situated for major roads; to the east is the A1, to the north is the A47 and to the south the A14.

Oundle provides a good selection of shops, restaurants, public houses and schools.

Glapthorn is in the primary school catchment for Glapthorn C E Primary and the catchment for the Middle School and Prince William School in Oundle.
