Summer fund raiser at Wadenhoe
Thanks to those of you who joined us at Wadenhoe for the Oarsome Challenge fundraising talk by Mick Birchall. Over 100 clients joined the Woodford & Co team to hear a talk by Oundle's intrepid oarsman as he enthralled us with tales of the high seas. Excellent food was provided by Helena Lewis Events & Catering and the raffle and donations raised the tidy sum of £900 for the Oarsome Challenge Fund which supports the NSPCC. There will be another fund raising talk next year to support another local charity.
HIPS are gone but you still need an EPC
The Government has now scrapped the HIP meaning that home owners can bring their property to the market without up front costs of £400. However, many home owners are unaware of the need for an Energy Performance Certificate or EPC. This is an assessment of the property's energy efficiency andtakes into account items such as insulation, central heating boiler and double glazing. The EPC was included in the HIP and is still a requirtment for marketing today. Woodford & Co can assist home owners with sourcing an EPC and can also advise on how to achieve a better rating.
The Market
April turns out to be a record month for Woodford & Co. with sales at all price levels being made, but in particular large family homes have sold exceedingly well. Chris Woodford puts the driving factor down to the popularity of Oundle School and the excellent commuter links in the area.
